For International Museum Day on May 18, 2007, Fort Nongqayi Museum Village will feature special, additional static and dynamic exhibits and displays to make the visit to the museums even more rewarding. These exhibits will include:
- An intriguing display of Anglo-Boer War medical equipment.
- Zulu antique beadwork and historical dress.
- A display of rare Central African masks, and of Venda and Ndebele dolls and figurines.
- A schools art exhibition.
- An exhibition of art based on the environment and ecology, from Phoenix Zululand Restorative Justice Programme.
- Crafts demonstrations — beading, wood carving, basket weaving and pottery, including a demonstration of firing.
- An attendant sangoma.
- An entertaining "photo opportunity" — visitors can have their photographs taken in colonial, Indian or Zulu costume.
