 eShowe, the jewel of Zululand

Glade in the Dlinza Forest
eShowe, in the south-east of Zululand, is approximately 130km northeast of Durban and 110km south-east of Richards Bay. The town is laid out around 250 hectares of the indigenous Dlinza Forest on a scenic ridge of the coastal escarpment, some 500 metres above sea level and 30km inland from the Indian ocean.
The easiest drive to eShowe for most visitors is to take the N2 freeway north from Durban (or south from Richards Bay), then turn inland at the Dokodweni off-ramp. eShowe is at the top of a series of hills, about 28km along the R66 arterial road.
